Confirmation Class
What is confirmation?
Confirmation is the laying on of the bishop’s hands with prayer for strengthening by the Holy Spirit, following a period of catechetical formation. In confirmation, I make a mature confes- sion of faith, publicly renewing the vows and promises made at my Baptism. (To Be a Christian: An Anglican Catechism)
In confirmation, baptized Christians, both children and adults are led through a period of teaching, formation, and prayer known as catechesis. This is a time for deep discipleship, and mature reflection on what it means to be a Christian. At the end of that time, the bishop lays hands on those who’ve completed the process confirming that they are making a mature commitment to Jesus, that they have claimed the faith for themselves, and praying that the Holy Spirit would empower them for ministry in the kingdom.
If you would like to be confirmed, then we invite you to sign up for our confirmation class which will meet on Wednesdays at 7 PM beginning July 3rd and culminate with a day retreat at Saint Leo’s Abbey in Dade City on August 24th where we will worship, pray, and celebrate the grace of God in each of our journey’s of faith.

Summer School: Hermeneutics
Is reading the Bible as easy as everyone makes it sound?
If you don’t care a whole lot about understanding what you read, then yes, our modern translations make it easy. But going beyond reading to actually comprehending what the Bible means can be a frustrating experience, especially when it feels like everyone has a different interpretation. This sacred text that we’re supposed to love, cherish and want to study can instead feel tedious and overwhelming. If you feel that way, you’re totally normal. Also, you don’t have to feel that way forever.
Join us this summer for a crash course in biblical hermeneutics (that’s a fancy word for interpretation). We’ll explore the basics of what the Bible is (and isn’t), the big story it’s telling, the various literary styles it contains, and it’s cultural/historical context. We’ll also touch on why Christians arrive at such different conclusions about what the Bible says and how we can navigate those differences.
If you’re ready to go beyond reading the Bible to understanding what you read, this class is the perfect place to start!
We’ll be meeting for 2 weeks in July, the 19th and the 26th at 7 PM. Childcare will be available, registration is required. Click the link here to sign up!
Summer School: Cookie Decorating
If you've ever wanted to learn to make custom sugar cookies (or just cute cookies for Christmas), Rachel will walk you through creating several designs in our cookie decorating class! You'll learn how to make 4 summer-themed cookies to take home! We'll also discuss frosting types and techniques, as well as painting with edible watercolor, shape-shifting cookie cutters and more.
Registration is required for this family friendly event, Click the link here to sign up!
Summer School: Intro to the Prayer Book
"The law of praying is the law of believing” was an axiom in the early church. Prayer and worship shape the way we relate to God, the world, and one another. For centuries, Anglicans have understood this principle and worked hard to create guidelines for prayer and worship to shape God’s people. The most obvious of these is the Book of Common Prayer. As great as that sounds, picking up the prayer book can feel like trying to find your way through a dictionary. In this class we’ll talk about where the prayer book comes from, how to navigate it, and the different ways you can use this resource in your own life with God and as you disciple your families.
We’ll be meeting for 2 weeks in July, the 5th and the 12th at 7 PM. Childcare will be available, registration is required. Click the link here to sign up!
