A Holy Lent.

“I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent: by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and alms-giving; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word.”

-The Book of Common Prayer, “Ash Wednesday”

Lent is a season in which Christians have historically devoted themselves to the spiritual disciplines: fasting, prayer, self denial, sacrificial giving, and repentance. But amidst the busyness of our lives, it’s possible for the time between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday to pass without much significance.

Registration for Lent Groups is open, you can find more information here.

If you’re unable to join a group but are still interested in deliberately cultivating a prayerful posture during the 40 days of Lent, we invite you to make an effort to attend Eucharist weekly. And to carve out space to practice the disciplines of prayer and fasting that we’ll be sharing over at our YouTube.

Our Lenten Retreat at St. Leo’s Abbey is also open to anyone who would like to participate, you can register for that here.

Of course, the season of Lent gives way to Holy Week and Easter Sunday so check out our Holy Week Schedule for all that we’ll be offering at the parish for the week of all weeks. We hope you join us!
